A Short Walk in The Gambian Bush - 930km African odyssey
As mentioned in an earlier blog post, when we decided to do the expedition, we wanted to also raise money and awareness for a cause that was very dear to both Florio and myself - 'Garden For Life' (part of an Eden Project, UK, charity), particularly in The Gambia (more info on GFL can be found in our early postings). So, we set up a Just Giving page where donations could be sent through to The Eden Project - a registered charity, to administer the funds.
**Please note, the donation page is now closed. This is now an example of how we raised funds for the charity
Blog Entry: 3rd November 2009, The Gambia, West Africa
Thank you so much to everyone so far who have made this expedition possible and for helping us spread the word about Gardens For Life. Now we are actually on the road, we need to pass over the fund raising to the Eden Project experienced charity organising team and they will ensure any further (much needed!) donations go directly to The Gambia and their Gardens For Life program.
